Important Information for Idaho Providers
Due to the transition of CIGNA Government Services' (CGS) Tennessee workload to Cahaba GBA as part of the J10 A/B MAC transition, Idaho providers will see some impact to claims processing in late August of this year. Tennessee and Idaho claims are currently processed in the same Multi-Carrier System (MCS) processing system. As part of the transition, CGS will be splitting the Tennessee and Idaho claims processing systems. The cutover date is scheduled for August 31, 2009, and could affect claims processing as early as one week before the cutover date. Some of the affects include:
- Payment Floor Drop – we will reduce the payment floor to ensure that all completed claims are out of the system prior to the August 31, 2009 cutover. Providers will receive payment earlier than usual for these claims.
- Work Hold – We will not introduce new work into the system and will hold the processing of all receipts leading up to the cutover. While we have developed plans to ensure timely processing, there will be cases where acknowledgements and responses will not be immediately available.
- Dark Day – There will be at least one dark day, where there will be no processing of Idaho claims. This will also impact our IVR, Customer Service, and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations.
- 1099s – It is possible that Idaho providers may receive two separate 1099 statements from CGS at the end of the year. One statement would cover the period prior to cutover, and the second would cover the post-cutover period.
Providers can help minimize the impact of this cutover by submitting claims as soon as possible prior to the cutover date. This will allow those claims to complete processing before the cutover.
We will post additional details as we finalize transition plans with Cahaba GBA. Please check the CGS website regularly for the latest information.
