North Carolina Workshops & Education

IMPORTANT -- IMPORTANT -- IMPORTANT -- IMPORTANT -- IMPORTANT

For all CIGNA Government Services scheduled educational events where a charge is applied, the fee is used to offset the cost of the meeting room and equipment rental. In the event you must cancel your registration, you may do so up to 10 business days prior to the educational event and receive a full refund. If you need to cancel less than 10 business days prior to the event, you will be responsible for the full charge and will not be eligible to receive a refund. We encourage you to send a substitute from your organization without penalty. This policy is effective for all events on and after September 1, 2007.

Please note: Medicare reserves the right to cancel an event if registration is insufficient. If we must cancel due to lack of participation, we will notify all registrants at least 48 hours before the date of the event and return the fee for that cancelled event.

In order to make provider education much more convenient, CIGNA Government Services offers several different methods of educational training, including teleconferences, online training, and on-site workshops. Each method offers providers the latest and most up-to-date Medicare information.

Workshops/Seminars

CIGNA Government Services offers a number of workshops and seminars throughout the year at various locations across the state. The workshops vary in subject matter, from our annual Medicare Update workshops to our Medicare Basics (101) and Medicare Beyond the Basics (102) seminars. Make sure you are prepared for all of the Medicare changes and updates by attending one of our workshops or seminars. Click here to learn more.

Webinars and Teleconferences

The Provider Relations department offers several educational programs through Webinars and Teleconferences throughout the year. Webinars are live, one-hour, interactive conferences that you can view online from the comfort of your own office. The audio portion of the Webinar is handled just like a regular telephone call, giving the user the ability to listen to the presentation and ask questions of the presenter. Provider Relations also occasionally offers regular teleconferences on various subjects to help providers further understand up-to-date Medicare issues. Click here to learn more.

Ask the Contractor Teleconferences (ACT)

CIGNA Government Services hosts quarterly “Ask the Contractor Teleconferences” for Part B providers in Idaho, North Carolina, and Tennessee. These teleconferences provide an opportunity to share information, answer questions, and identify problems in a timely way. Participants learn from each other's discussions and receive useful clarifications regarding the different rules and instructions associated with coverage, coding, and payment.

Providers participate toll-free in their state-specific teleconference. Representatives from departments throughout the CIGNA Government Services organization (Medical Review, Provider Contact Center, Claims, Appeals, EDI, Provider Enrollment, MSP, Provider Outreach, and Education, etc.) are available to answer questions and listen to your comments.

Online Education Center

CIGNA Government Services will be replacing our existing NetCourses application. Click here to access our new Online Education Center. You may still access the NetCourse application, until we are able to transition these courses to the new system.

Medicare Learning Network

CMS's Medicare Learning Network provides Medicare suppliers and providers with several educational training resources. These resources include satellite broadcasts, class room training materials, Web-based training and free Medlearn products such as CD-ROMs, videos and more. The site also includes information about CMS upcoming events and the latest news from the Medicare front.
